questions & answers

How is Pronicity different from the many other databases out there?
Most all of the existing supplier databases out there are limited at best. One may contain only minority-owned business but not women-owned. Another may list only businesses in one region or another, or only of certain business types. Most only contain suppliers that have paid to be on that list or certified in a certain way. And nearly all of them suffer from limited functionality or being difficult to use. Some are no more than printable lists. As a minority-owned business ourselves, we have seen it all. By not charging the Supplier, Pronicity brings all of the best listings together with the easiest and most innovative search tools to make supplier Diversity fast, easy and smart.
Where do your Supplier listings come from?
Our listings come from many sources. We receive Supplier data from public, government and corporate databases. In addition, we recruit Suppliers to our listing through public business events and trade shows as well as recruiting suppliers directly to the web site.
Are Pronicity Suppliers certified as minority-owned, women-owned or veteran-owned?
Pronicity is not in the business of certification. There are already many qualified and well-established organizations out there in the business of certification. We simply provide a way for suppliers to list their current certifications. When a Client contacts a Supplier, we encourage them to verify the declared certification or request that the supplier obtain the client’s preferred certification.
Why are non-minority businesses listed?
A client is provided with alternatives in case there are no minority-owned or woman-owned businesses with the products or services they require.
I checked my own listing and I noticed that some of the information is incorrect or out of date. What should I do?
If you are a registered contact for that business, simply click the “update” button at the top of the business detail page and correct the information. If you are not a registered contact for that business, click the “report issue” button for any information that you feel should be brought to the attention of Pronicity.
What if I don’t want to share private information about my company?
No Supplier is required to provide sensitive or private information for their listing. In fact, we designed it so that any information beyond basic contact info is optional to the Supplier. Keep in mind, though, that studies show that the more detailed information that is provided only increases your chance of being contacted by a prospective client.
How do I view or search the Pronicity database?
The Supplier listings are viewable to Clients who subscribe to the Pronicity services, as well as to the registered Suppliers themselves. Suppliers can only view abbreviated listings for each Supplier.
